It does absolutely nothing for me. You compared it to the Sookie Stackhouse series - and that may be the reason why I can't get into it. I'm not a fan of the Sookie books. I downloaded all three books without having read the first. Stupid, stupid, stupid! So I guess I'll have to finish the first book and read the next two eventually but I am not in any kind of rush to do so.Marqhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17181525468624689183noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8405854896968003712.post-58996368656772387282010-05-26T23:22:46.206-04:002010-05-26T23:22:46.206-04:00I love this series but trust me, there are some ve...I love this series but trust me, there are some very popular series out there that just leave me scratching my head, so I see where you're coming from. Nice review though, and I love that you admitted you've started reading the 2nd book!

I left an award for you at my place:
http://www.bookaddictpatti.com/2010/05/thank-you_25.htmlPatti (@TheLoveJunkee)https://www.blogger.com/profile/01732605328006594727noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8405854896968003712.post-45751057916585441592010-05-26T11:52:11.077-04:002010-05-26T11:52:11.077-04:00This is one of my favorite series, Harper does hum...This is one of my favorite series, Harper does humor really well. I also read the books back to back, which I think helped in keeping my momentum going for this series.

P.S. I thought that there were too many similarities and just not as interesting. I also remember that a lot of the "humor" came from bickering between characters, which I really don't like. And where was the romance? (Wasn't it marketed as a PR?) I liked Dick Cheney's character better than the "hero." I haven't picked up book two yet. RT Book Reviews has given all books in this series very high marks. I thought maybe it was just me!!Book of Secretshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06259592113584639013noreply@blogger.com
