REVIEW: AUCTIONED BY KIMBERLY KAYE TERRY

BACK COVER BLURB:

Chase Davidson has always been driven to succeed. Growing up poor, Chase vowed she would rise above the squalor of her childhood and become successful. When her Fortune 500 Company doesn't promote her, Chase is beyond distraught. Disgraced and furious, she wants her power back. Needing a quick fix to soothe her damaged ego, she impulsively accepts an invitation to an island adventure that promises to fulfill her every desire -- including her desire to be "number one." Forced out of her comfort zone, both emotional and sexual, what she experiences is more than what she bargained for, but exactly what she needed.

LYNETTE'S TWO CENTS:

WARNING: This is erotica. Not an erotica romance. Auctioned is focused on the woman's journey and not on Chase (the heroine) finding her happily ever after.

Now that I've gotten that out of the way . . .. I purchased Auctioned on impulse. My Waldenbooks/Borders is going out of business and their books were 65% off, so being the booklover that I am I went into the store and lost my mind. I bought Auctioned because the cover looked hot. When I finished Auctioned, I went to Amazon to look up everything this author has written. and this is from a woman who demands that her romances have a happily ever after.

Even though this is a short story, the heroine Chase has a depth of character that I haven't found in many full-length novels. She comes off strong but not in a bitchy way. Seeing her back-story (which is beautifully layered in), I understand why she behaved in the way she did. Ms. Terry made it easy for her readers to quickly sympathize and root for the heroine. I understood why she found it impossible to not be in control. When she began to let go and put her faith in others, I nearly stood up and cheered.

Although Auctioned is an erotica novel, it's more than just sex. Auctioned is about accepting your past, learning who you are, and letting go so you can move forward to reach your full potential.

Overall:
Normally, I demand that my stories have a romantic happily ever after. Auctioned did not and I was totally fine with it. Chase's journey from being a woman so afraid of losing control that she wouldn't allow herself to have an orgasm to having faith in herself and others was so compelling, I didn't miss the lack of an hero in the traditional sense of the word.

Go forth and buy. You won't be disappointed.

WHERE PURCHASED:
Bought with my own precious cash.

I've read several books my KKT and I've liked all of them. I haven't read Auction thought.
