Contest: INSIDE THE AUTHOR STUDIO WITH DEE TENORIO

INSIDE THE AUTHOR STUDIO
WITH
DEE TENORIO

Dee Tenorio has a few reality issues. After much therapy for the problem—if one can call being awakened in the night by visions of hot able-bodied men a problem—she has proved incurable. It turns out she enjoys tormenting herself by writing sizzling, steamy romances of various genres spanning paranormal mystery dramas, contemporaries and romantic comedies. Preferably starring the sexy, somewhat grumpy heroes described above and smart-mouthed heroines who have much better hair than she does.
The best part is, no more therapy bills!
Well, not for Dee, anyway. Her husband and kids, on the other hand...

Describe yourself in one sentence?

Once you get past the goofy, there's a loyal, determined girl in there.

What are the one record, book, and food, you'd take to a desert island?

Ooooh, well, I'd rather take a mixed CD, lol, but likely take a concert edition CD of Racheal Yamagata (OMG, I love her.), one of Hubby's 3k page blank notebooks for my book (I have a still-mostly photographic memory, so all the books I've read are coming with me anyway, lol) and at least 1 last Coconut Cream pie. :) My favorite.

What did you want to be when you were growing up?

First, a Solid Gold Dancer. After that, totally a writer. I've always wanted this. :)

Which book do you wish you'd written?

Any of the Psy/Changeling series, so then I'd know what happens next, lol. (I am not a patient soul)

What makes you happy?

Cakes and Pastry. Baby hugs. A good story. Finishing a project and knowing it's good.

What makes you angry?

Abuse. Laziness. Cruelty. Indifference. I think that last one the most, actually.

Name five people you'd like to invite to a dinner party?

1) Edward Burns—he's witty, he's a writer and he likes movies. He's perfect!
2) Sandra Bullock—the conversations I'd love to have with her.
3) Liam Neeson—I don't care what he wants to talk about, I just want to hear him speak.
4) Anthony Hopkins—Another one I want to listen to, but his stories would be amazing.
5) Morgan Freeman—Clearly, this is a talking party. I just want to have interesting people chattering that I don't mind listening to.

What's the scariest thing you've ever done?

Crossed in front of a train that missed me by a half-second. (We were late getting home & very, very stupid.)

What inspired you to start writing?

My Mom, who was always writing something and reading. She gave me books and never once thought it was silly that I wanted to write some.

Where would you most like to live?

Somewhere cool and comfortable, where there's enough room for my family and enough space for me to have an office without putting anyone out.

What is your favorite curse word?

Fuck. And any creative combinations thereof, lol. I'm actually trying to stop using it, but there are some really impressive swear-artists out there. My sisters were quite talented, lol.

Who is your favorite man candy?

Oh, I have several favorites. In my fantasies, I get Gerard Butler, Eric Bana and Eddie Cibrian are playing brothers. :) But hands down, Eric Bana makes my heart beat like crazy. :)

Sum up your latest release in no more than twelve words!

A woman is all that stands between a hunter and a killer. (OMG, I did it, LOL!)

Great interview. Personally I use "flock" whenever I want to say that particular swear word, although that does get me some funny looks. I read Tempting the Enemy and thought it was great. I would love to win a copy of Deceiving the Protector.
