Interview and Contest with Nadia Lee

INSIDE THE AUTHOR'S STUDIO
WITH
NADIA LEE

Bilingual former management consultant Nadia Lee has lived in four different countries and enjoyed many adventures and excellent food around the globe. In the last eight years, she has kissed stingrays, been bitten by a shark, ridden an elephant and petted tigers.
She shares an apartment overlooking a river and palm trees in Japan with her husband, winter white hamsters and an ever-widening pile of books. When she's not writing, she can be found digging through old Asian historical texts or planning another trip.

Describe yourself in one sentence?

A bilingual expat writer who loves to read, eat, travel and enjoy life.

What are the one record, book, and food, you'd take to a desert island?

Ohh...tough one.

Record: The Complete Beethoven Symphonies

Book:  Can I just cheat and take my fully loaded Kindle? No? All right. I'll
take IN CONQUEST BORN by C.S. Friedman

Food:  Fresh strawberries

What did you want to be when you were growing up?

A plastic surgeon.

Which book do you wish you'd written?

LOVING EVANGELINE by Linda Howard

What makes you happy?

A lovely sunny morning spent with my husband and new baby boy. :)

What makes you angry?

Cruelty toward those who are weaker and more vulnerable than we are.

Name five people how you'd like to invite to a dinner party?

Provided that we can invite the dead, living, fictional and real:  Sherlock
Holmes, Julius Caesar, Oscar Wilde, Qin Shi Huang (the Emperor of Qin
Dynasty), Hwang Jin Yi (a famous kisen from Joseon Dynasty)

What's the scariest thing you've ever done?

Give birth. It was scarier than swimming with sharks and getting bitten.

What inspired you to start writing?

I've always dabbled, though I didn't get serious until about seven years ago
or so.  I have no idea why I started or how I got started except that I
enjoyed sketching little scenes.

Where would you most like to live?

Right now, I'm happy where I am (Japan).  But I'd love to spend a few years
in France and Singapore.

What is your favorite curse word?

D**** it!

Who is your favorite man-candy?

For now, it's Hugh Jackman.

Sum up your latest release in no more than twelve words!

Preschool teacher finds love with a prince while rescuing a fairytale
princess.

The story is totally cute and has a great message about not looking for romance novels and fairy tales for your happily ever after.

Not entering the giveaway, just wanted to say that I really enjoyed the novella you are giving away & I loved your interview questions. Mine are so boring in comparison!

No one's going to argue with your selection of man candy! I hope you'll visit my country, Malaysia sometime in the future too.

Lynette & Colette -- Thank you so much for kind words on my novella!

Linda -- I soooo want to visit Malaysia! It's definitely on my list of places to go as soon as the Boy is old enough to travel well.
