Interview/Giveaway with Fantasy/Paranormal Author Crista McHugh
INSIDE THE AUTHOR STUDIO
WITH
CRISTA MCHUGH
Growing up in small town Alabama, I relied on story-telling
as a natural way for me to pass the time and keep my two younger sisters
entertained.
I currently live in the Audi-filled suburbs of Seattle with
my husband and daughter, maintaining my alter ego of mild-mannered physician by
day while I continue to pursue writing on nights and weekends.
I am an active member of the Romance Writers of America
(including the FF&P , Greater Seattle Chapter, ESPAN, Passionate Ink, and
the Seattle Eastside Chapters), Absolute
Write, and Romance Divas.
Just for laughs, here are some of the jobs I’ve had in the
past to pay the bills: barista, bartender, sommelier, stagehand, actress,
morgue attendant, and autopsy assistant.
And I’m also a recovering LARPer. (I blame it on my crazy
college days)
Describe yourself in one sentence?
A overworked,
slightly snarky MD and mom who likes to retreat to a world of happy endings
from time to time
What are the one record, book, and food, you'd take to a
desert island?
The Little Women
soundtrack (Winona Rider version), Pride and Prejudice, and dark chocolate
peanut butter cups
What did you want to be when you were growing up?
An actress
Which book do you wish you'd written?
Twilight – if only
I’d known how popular disco-ball vampires would be…
What makes you happy?
Seeing my daughter
laugh
What makes you angry?
Stupid people --
seriously
Name five people you'd like to invite to a dinner party?
Out of the living:
Lady Gaga, Jimmy Carter, Johnny Depp, Tina Fey, and Bono.
What's the scariest thing you've ever done?
Hitchhiked through
Scotland (although I didn’t think it was scary at the time)
What inspired you to start writing?
I needed some stress
relief, and I had a bunch of stories in my head that were dying to get out.
Where would you most like to live?
Near where I am now
(Seattle), but perhaps a little more into the Mountains
What is your favorite curse word?
Probably shite – it’s
just fun to say
Who is your favorite man candy?
Right now, it’s Henry
Cavill (my muse for the hero in my current WIP)
