A voracious reader, Kris loves many genres of fiction, but this writer’s favorite books are romances that are edgy, sexy, with rich characters and unique challenges. Kris’ influences include JR Ward, Lora Leigh, and Shayla Black.
Kris has won and placed in several writing contests in the past couple of years.
Kris’ motto: I like cooking up really hot books for my readers. The hotter, the better.

Describe yourself in one sentence?
I’m a distractible dreamer who loves to travel, enjoys the company of friends, devours books, and likes a glass of wine in the evening…maybe two.
What are the one record, book, and food, you'd take to a desert island?
Record: U2's The Joshua Tree
Book: JR Ward's Lover Awakened
Food: Thai. Love it!
What did you want to be when you were growing up?

What did you want to be when you were growing up?
An actor, writer, producer, director, king of my own island, vampire (don’t ask…my mother considered therapy – lol!).
Which book do you wish you'd written?
Only one? Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone (aka … Sorcerer’s Stone). It got kids reading again.
What makes you happy?
Warm days. Cool nights. A great review of one of my books. An email from a reader. Finishing a book. Reading.
What makes you angry?
Cold days. Colder nights. A bad review of one of my books. Getting stuck on some point in a book I’m working on that I can’t puzzle out. Not having time to read.

What's the scariest thing you've ever done?
I was in Chicago with a friend who told me he knew the way to the restaurant we were supposed to meet friends for dinner. My friend was mistaken, and took us through some very terrifying areas. At one point, a block up from us a car’s tires squealed as the made a hard left into an alley. Seconds later, we heard what sounded like gunfire. We finally did make it to the restaurant, and I made my friend pay for several shots and my dinner.
What inspired you to start writing?
The books I read transported me on such wonderful adventures and introduced me to such incredible characters that I knew for a very young age I wanted to be a writer.
Where would you most like to live?
Anywhere it is warm. I love Texas and California very much.
What is your favorite curse word?
Sometimes you’ve just got to bring out the big guns – the F-Word.
Who is your favorite man candy?
Well, I’m looking in the mirror right now. LOL!

I knew the food you would take :) I want to be at that dinner table even if it is just as a waiteress !! I so can't wait to get Lillian's Rogues I have been jonesing for a new E-Three book !!
Hey Kris! It's great to meet you :) It just so happens that J.R. Ward, AKA "The WARDen" is one of my favorite authors and Lover Awakened, Zsadist's story, is my favorite books by her - or anyone for that matter!!
Your book sounds like a great, sexy read!
I'm with you on the f-word. It's such a harsh word, dropped at the right time is so naughty and sexy.
I don't think I've ever read an erotic novel written by a man. I'm intrigued.

I've read some pretty hot m/m books written by a man, but never one that had a female involved. Gotta say, I'm intrigued. Especially when the man who wrote the book has such awesome taste in authors (every one on his list of who he'd invite to dinner all take up lots of space on my bookshelf).
Oh, and my favorite curseword? Other than the F-bomb (which I use entirely too frequently for someone with a 5 year old running around) is Rat Bastard! It's just so much fun to say (thank you Kevin Spacey).

I kept seeing exciting books by Kris Cook pop up on the blogosphere and I always wondered: Kris how did you start writing romances? Do people find it peculiar that you are writing romances as a man?

Great interview Kris. We happen to like some of the same authors (JK Rowling & JR Ward); and I'm ashamed to admit this, but the F word has slipped itself into more of my convo's lately-LOL.
